THIS IS A SPECIAL DAY …

This day is a special day…

There are always news reports about how stressed people become over the holidays.  Oftentimes you can see this exhibited in the faces of shoppers hurrying through the malls or grocery stores ~ “Not enough time! Not enough time!” their body language seems to shout.  I, too, have sometimes succumbed to this crazy, hectic pace but have invested some time over the past several years in taking the time to enjoy the season and, perhaps more importantly, to give thought to ways of enjoying each day.

Today is a beautiful day to be alive, to be the person you are. This is a beautiful day, simply, to be.

One of the things I’ve determined is a total waste of energy is trying to possess or control – little things or seemingly big things!  I’ve come to the conclusion that there is no reason to let myself be burdened by things that have happened in the past; I can’t change them.  In case you haven’t noticed there are no “do-over’s” in real life.   May I offer you the concept of not worrying about being “right,” or about impressing anyone – your spouse, your friends, your children, your parents, your neighbors, your colleagues, your bosses and certainly not yourself?

Instead invest yourself in focusing on creating things that have never before existed. What can you do to add value to the lives of others?  In what ways can you express the unique person that you are?  Feel good by simply deciding to, rather than by mentally beating up on yourself or others. Look at every single thing that happens each day as an opportunity for growth and enlightenment and celebration of the uniqueness of your life.

Accept and be thankful for the abundance that is yours –  I have found that creating a Gratitude Journal in which I record daily at least five things for which I am thankful  is a wonderful reminder of all the good things in my life.

Feeling really in a funk and as though yet another year has passed and you’re stuck in the same place you’ve been for more days than you can count?  Well, don’t just sit there!  Dust off your dreams and find a way to follow them.  Create a Life Map with at least one thing you will do each day that will move you closer to your dream.

Your life truly is precious and beautiful. Each and every breath you take is an opportunity to live life to the fullest.  As this New Year approaches might I suggest you release the stress and the self criticism, reach up and out into the natural goodness of this beautiful world and tell yourself …

I AM A CHILD OF THE UNIVERSE AND I DESERVE AND ACCEPT

ALL THE GOOD THINGS IN LIFE!

Inspiration – If I dwell on this word for long, a smile crosses my face, mind plummets through happy memory folders and brings so many faces, as they emerge they are lit up and smile and glow and vanish… Their words, feat big and small is a truly inspiring.
